Tarradale through Time: The Story So Far
Talk by Lachlan McKeggie
Muir Hub, Muir of Ord. Organised by the Tarradale Through Time project.
After nearly two years of excavation, sieving, sorting and analysing (and not a little head scratching) the Tarradale Though Time project has unearthed some fascinating insights into the local past. Come along to learn more about Scotland’s earliest people hunting and gathering on the shores of the Beauly Firth. Find out how we lost a medieval castle and what it has to do with Robert the Bruce. See what the team found out about a fort by the Black Isle show ground and look at some of the amazing artefacts we have discovered along the way. With archaeology ranging from a medieval horse harness to a mesolithic harpoon, dating back around 6,000 years, Tarradale continues to amaze and surprises us. With the final excavation season approaching find out how you can get involved with the excavation of a possible Pictish cemetery.
